TPC Scottsdale · Every February

WM Phoenix Open

They call it “The Greatest Show on Grass” — the rowdiest, best-attended week on the PGA Tour takes over TPC Scottsdale every February. Here’s what to know before you go, and how to pair it with an open-desert adventure.

The rundown

The loudest week in golf

The WM Phoenix Open is unlike any other stop on the PGA Tour. More than 700,000 spectators pour through the gates over tournament week, making it the best-attended event in professional golf by a wide margin — part sporting event, part week-long party in the North Scottsdale sun.

The heart of it is the 16th hole, a par-3 nicknamed “The Coliseum” because it’s completely enclosed by stadium grandstands and skyboxes packed with roughly 20,000 fans who cheer, boo and roar at every tee shot. Add live concerts, hospitality villages and a genuinely electric atmosphere, and it’s the anchor of Scottsdale’s packed February event calendar.
