
Due to the ever-changing conditions in the Sonoran Desert, sometimes, so does our meet-up points. We run on multiple trailheads with different meet-up points throughout Tonto National Forest, and all trailheads are within 10 minutes of each other. All of our trailhead locations are located directly off the highway and do not require any extended dirt road driving. The most current trailhead directions will be texted to you within the week of your tour. Be sure to only use the directions and map texted to you. Below is one of our trailhead locations.
For Butcher Jones OHV follow the sign off of Bush Hwy for Pobrecito boat & OHV staging area. Proceed to the back parking area, cross over the cattle guard and enter the dirt lot. This is where you will park and meet your guides for the tour. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour starting.

As you make your way to our meeting point, the drive through Tonto National Forest provides a stunning glimpse of the desert’s captivating beauty. This sprawling wilderness is a vivid mosaic of rugged mountains, cactus-dotted plains, and when in season colorful wildflowers, showcasing the quintessential charm of Arizona’s landscape. During the golden hours of sunrise or sunset, the shifting light and shadows create a mesmerizing display across the desert terrain. Keep an eye out for the abundant wildlife, from majestic eagles gliding overhead to the elusive wild horses roaming free, adding to the area’s natural allure. This scenic route is more than just a drive—it’s an introduction to the peaceful beauty and timeless tranquility of the desert, perfectly setting the stage for the adventure awaiting you in the heart of Tonto National Forest.

Remember you are in Tonto National Forest and cell service is spotty.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the tour beginning, so you can fill out the waivers.
Plenty of sunscreen and closed-toed shoes are recommended for this tour.
Uber and Lyft are not recommended as means of transportation to the trailhead.
Our guides work on gratuities, so tips are welcome.
